With increasing foot traffic along this bustling route, our design for a pedestrian bridge over Mounts Bay Road in Crawley offers a secure pathway for visitors to access this beloved, and increasingly popular tourist attraction, while also forging a meaningful connection between the boat shed and King's Park, another cherished destination.

Inspired by the fish traps used by the First Nations people, the bridge features a pattern of timber battens. These ancient structures, crafted by skilfully intertwining bushes and sticks into wicker fences, served as a means to trap and effortlessly spear fish.

By linking the existing carparking amenities located at Kings Park, to the foreshore adjacent to the Blue Boat Shed, we respond to a critical need for safe pedestrian movement across the very busy Mounts Bay Road.
