The stretch of Mosman Bay which is the focus of our study runs from the Mosman Bay Scouts Club, southerly to the 'Mosmans' restaurant. It's a beautiful stretch of riverfront with beautiful views to the city, peppermint trees for shade, pathway and seating. We noticed that the locals have been creating their own pathway dow at the limestong storm-wall which we took as a driver for our concept.

The primary element in the concept has been to take up the idea of the 'central stair' which not only provides steps down into the water, but has the functional purpose of providing the new beach protection against wave erosion. This being so, the consultants still foresee that sand will have to be moved back into place around once a year.
